WHAT TO EXPECT

We want to make sure you get the most out of your time in the clinic. Throughout the consultation, which is made up of two appointments (an initial assessment and Report of Findings), we aim to fully understand your health history, current needs and any issues you are facing right now so we can be a trusted advisor in your health journey. Once your consultation is complete, you will have a much better understanding of your body, why any issues may be happening and some options to support this.

YOUR JOURNEY

We invite you to come along to our relaxing and friendly clinics where we appreciate that, for many of our clients, this is their first experience of Chiropractic. We want you to feel comfortable with the process so we will take good care of you every step of the way. Click the video below to watch Alex explain…

INITIAL ASSESSMENT

At the initial assessment, our number one goal is to find out what we can help you with.

The appointment will also include a review of your health history, an examination (involving assessment of your spine, joints, nerves and muscles using orthopaedic, functional, and neurological tests), and digital on-site x-rays (if clinically required). It will last approximately 30-40 minutes.

REPORT OF FINDINGS

Once we have been through a full assessment, your second appointment (also known as a Report of Findings) provides a dedicated time for us to give you specific feedback based on your individual circumstances.

As a verbal ‘report’ on the outcome of your assessment, we will tell you if we can help you, how we can help, how long it will take and how much it will cost. We want to empower you with information to make the best decision for your own health. It is at this appointment we will be able to get started with care.

CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT

Your health is your responsibility therefore our goal is to provide you with enough information to make an informed decision on whether you wish to start care with us to help you achieve your goals. This varies for each client depending on the reason you have come into the clinic. On the day of your Report of Findings appointment, you will be able to get started with your first adjustment visit, already pre-scheduled for you if you wish to take action.

 FAQs

  • An adjustment is the hands-on manual, highly specific movement of any joint (usually in the spine or pelvis) to restore its function and therefore remove interference to the nervous system to allow the body’s healing process to occur.

The movement of the bones in the spine generates negative pressure causing bubbles in the joint to pop which is the sound you may hear/have heard (a popping or ‘cracking’ noise).

Although it may look like it will hurt, most people find that the adjustment is not only painless but feels good. For some people there may be minor discomfort during, or directly after, the adjustment. This is an important part of the healing process and will usually clear up within 24-48 hours.

  • Taking x-rays can provide a deeper, more detailed assessment of your spine, specifically showing clear alignment of your skeletal structure, any joint, disc or bone conditions and it can be used to help rule out anything more sinister that may need medical attention.

Your specific circumstances and the results from your consultation and assessment will determine whether x-rays will be necessary. If you have any concerns at all, feel free to raise these at your consultation.

  • Chiropractic care focuses on the cause of the problem. By supporting the body’s natural processes (and innate intelligence), a series of manual adjustments to realign the body achieves effective and enduring outcomes.

How many visits you need will be determined by several factors:

    · How long you have been experiencing any symptoms

    · What the cause is

    · Your age

    · If you have any other conditions

    · Your lifestyle i.e. levels of stress, physical exertion/activeness

    · What you want to achieve through your care

Progress will be regularly reviewed and monitored throughout your care with us, ensuring we are providing the most appropriate care for you.
